Mandarin Oriental, Taipei is welcoming Thierry Marx of Mandarin Oriental, Paris for an exclusive culinary week from 24–28 November 2015. Head of two Michelin-star restaurant, Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx at Mandarin Oriental, Paris, Chef Marx will showcase his modern take on traditional French cuisine at Taipei’s most exclusive dining venue, the Chairman’s Residence. To enjoy this extraordinary culinary adventure to the full, guests can book the Ultimate Dining Experience, a special, one-night accommodation package at the hotel.

One of France’s most celebrated chefs, Chef Marx was awarded his first Michelin star at Roc en Val in Tours, in 1988, and then another at Cheval Blanc in Nimes, in 1991. After receiving two Michelin stars at Chateau Cordeillan-Bages, a Relais & Chateaux restaurant in Gironde, which he led for ten years from 1999, he then created Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx, where he combines passion and technique to offer haute cuisine that delights the senses.

An aesthete with an eye for detail, Chef Marx worked closely with designer, Agence Jouin Manku, to create an exclusive dinner service for Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx. Chef Marx was awarded France’s highest honor, The Legion d’honneur in 2013, and was crowned “Chef of the Year” in 2014 by the Guide Pudlo.

Chef Marx believes food is about pleasure and sharing. Drawing inspiration from France and his extensive travels in Asia, he creates cuisine that touches the heart by tasting and looking beautiful. Using the finest, fresh ingredients he is renowned for creating avant-garde textures, flavours, forms and colours. With creativity as his motivation, beauty in his sights, and pleasure as his ultimate goal, Chef Marx is sure to surprise diners with his sophisticated gastronomy.

Chef Marx’s creative cuisine will be available for lunch and dinner at the hotel:
Dinner menu from 24 to 28 November (Tuesday to Saturday)
The nine-course, special, Thierry Marx dinner set menu with wine pairing is priced at TWD 12,500 per person.
Lunch menu from 25 to 27 November (Wednesday to Friday)
The five-course, special, Thierry Marx lunch set menu with wine pairing is priced at TWD 7,500 per person.

Prices are subject to 10% service charge. Due to limited seating, advance reservation is highly recommended.
