Kempinski Hotel Bahía hosted its first Lighting of the Christmas Tree and Boutique Christmas Market, complete with a visit from Santa himself!
The market opened at 16.00hrs with over 23 different stalls, a mixture of local shops such as Maduarte Estepona and Oh Boutique from Sabanillas, artists Sara Fitzgerald and Robbie Williams, handmade jewelry by Sesenteyuno, Elena Perals and Love Noel, illustrated cards and painting by Mercedes Lopez Carro & Isabel Martin, hand made clothes by BohoVivo, and Jeanne, vintage items and Christmas decorations by Candy love Vintage. On arrival guests were offered mulled wine and the air was filled with the smell of roasted chestnuts, and churros with hot chocolate, inside the gourmet corner offered jamon by Popi, olive oil from the Molina Mudejar in Monda, ecological wine from Bodega Joaquin Fernandez, Finca las Frutales in Ronda, Christmas sweets, cakes and much, much more.
The lobby was filled with the sounds of Christmas carols played on the grand piano, and as the sun went down Magnum Mysterium Choir sang for all the guests. Once it was a little darker Santa arrived for all the excited boys and girls and sang ‘O Christmas Tree’ and magically turned on the lights! With a full lobby and over 350 people attending, the event was a great success for all involved.
All who had a stall at the market raised funds for charity, with a donation going to CARITAS, a local charity which collects food and donations to local families who need financial aid.
