The celebrations commence with a Beach Barbecue on Chinese New Year’s Eve as an opportunity for friends, family and loved ones to come together over a gourmet barbecue that includes traditional Chinese dishes. Guests can celebrate the year of the monkey under the starry night sky whilst feasting on a menu featuring the freshest seafood and produce, including local caught Maldivian lobster, crab, reef fish and meats cooked on the barbecue, fresh salads, sushi, and a selection of Chinese dishes including assorted dim sum, jellyfish salad, Yee Sang, Mongolian Barbecue station, Peking Duck and Suckling Pig. To finish the evening, guests can enjoy a decadent selection of handmade desserts. Friends and family can enjoy the delicious feast on the soft sandy beach, while also listening to live music.

Following the New Year’s Eve Barbecue, guests can continue the Spring Festival celebration at Ufaa by Jereme Leung, the first authentic Chinese restaurant in the Maldives, which has prepared a Spring Festival menu full of dishes that are sure to usher in an auspicious new year. From February 1-22, guests can enjoy lunch served in Chinese banquet family style. The menu features a selection of five appetizers, a soup, six main dishes, two desserts and a selection of tropical seasonal fruit. Dinner features a Chinese set menu including five appetizers, a soup, six main dishes, two desserts and a selection of tropical seasonal fruit. Filled with Spring Festival classics, the menu features dishes including Cantonese-style roasted duck, scallop and shrimp soup, slow-cooked sea cucumber and mushroom with vegetables, wok-fried lobster rolls with pickled peppers, and steamed cod fillet with hot and sour soup, that will leave guests feeling full of fortune, and fortunate for being able to experience the menu itself.

Meanwhile, friends and family can celebrate a prosperous Chinese New Year in one of Ufaa’s two private Mahjong and Karaoke rooms. Each private room features a Mahjong table and Karaoke TV filled with thousands of the world’s favourite songs including both Chinese and Western hits, so you can sing old classics and perfect new favourites. For the new year, Ufaa is also offering special packages for those who want to take advantage of these private traditional Chinese-style retreats.

For guests on extended vaction, couples can celebrate a romantic Valentine’s Day at Vilu Restaurant and Bar, where you can woo your Valentine with one of the world’s first Champagne house’s – Ruinart. Runiart joins the resort to showcase their champagne alongside Conrad Maldives Executive Chef Marco Amarone’s signature creations. Alternately, couples can enjoy a romantic private beach dining experience with a gourmet and secluded dinner set on the pristine Rangali beach. The private beach dining experience features a candle-lit table for two and a chef’s selection menu teeming with flavours from both the Indian Ocean and around the world. The evening will be truly unforgettable as your surrounded by the gentle sounds of lapping waves, panoramic vistas across the Indian Ocean and millions of stars twinkling down on you.
