Exclusive Bubbly Weekend at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain Planned for November 2015

Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain is delighted to announce the visit of internationally renowned champagne expert Edouard Duval on November 7 and 8, 2015.

As the sixth generation from family-owned champagne house Duval-Leroy, Edouard has been involved in the wine business from an early age. After attending the renowned International Organisation of Vine and Wine in France, where he successfully completed his Master of Science in Wine Management, Edouard went to China to develop his own wine business in 2006.

Since its creation in 1859, Champagne Duval-Leroy has been located in the heart of La Cote des Blancs. Currently the house cultivates about 500 acres (200 hectares), much of which is devoted to production of high quality chardonnay grapes. The predominance of chardonnay in the elaboration of the cuvees gives a finesse, lightness and elegance to Duval-Leroy Champagnes. The company is one of the few remaining 100 percent family-owned champagne businesses and is ranked in the 15 top champagne houses in the world.

For this special occasion, Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain has created a getaway weekend where champagne lovers will be spoiled. To kick off the bubbly weekend, a bottle of champagne will be placed in the guest suite or villa upon arrival. Guests will then be invited to attend a private champagne tasting conducted by Edouard himself who has selected some of the best cuvées of the renowned house.

The evening will continue, led by Edouard and Executive Chef Conny Andersson. The duo will take privileged guests into a private dining room and introduce a six-course signature menu paired with the finest wines. Fresh organic ingredients from the resort’s garden will be incorporated in the menu along with one of the chef’s secret ingredients – caviar. Produced in a local farm located 15 minutes away from the resort, Cerealia Sustainable Caviar will be served for the first time in a resort in China. Guests will get the chance to sample three different varieties during the dinner.

On Sunday, November 8, to carry on the special gourmet weekend, a champagne brunch will be served at Farm2Fork restaurant.

Finally, and before the weekend ends, a stop at the Six Senses Spa will be a must to enjoy a 60-minute signature Holistic Spa Treatment, a soothing massage designed to evoke deep relaxation.
